This July, with temperatures hitting nearly 40 degrees every day, Xiaomi Science and Technology Park celebrated its fourth anniversary, complete with four days of food street treats that brought a little “cool relief” to the scorching weather. As a Xiaomi employee, how could I pass up this perfect chance to treat myself to a few good meals?
。

There were lots of anniversary activities, but as a bit of a foodie, my home turf was obviously all the snacks! First off, a big thumbs-up for the discounts on everything. Such good value—it felt like the prices back in our little county town. As long as you had room in your stomach, you could eat to your heart’s content without worrying about emptying your wallet, hahaha. Take the wheel cakes I started with: I thought the purple rice one tasted best. This stall’s meat-and-egg burgers were pretty good too, though I felt they could use a bit more sauce. Room for improvement there.

With all those snacks, how could we go without a few drinks? Qingbuliang dessert drinks, lemon tea, ice jelly—they had it all. This was just so satisfying!

And of course, the prices were pretty lovely too. 。

There were also all kinds of fruit, bobo chicken skewers, barbecue, griddled squid, fried snacks, liangpi rolls, pig’s trotters, and more. One extra shout-out: that liangpi roll was absolutely enormous for 7.9 yuan—ridiculously good value. Once I finished one, I couldn’t eat another thing.

And then there were the crowds on the food street. Arrive even a little late, and you’d probably have to queue for ages before getting your hands on something tasty.

And just like that, those four short days were over. The food street really did max out the happiness meter. This time, I think…

Finally, here are a few gorgeous photos from lately:

Still, I think the sunset when I get off work is the prettiest.

A little shout-out to Ulanqab—come take a look!
